Manoj Kumar Wadhwa, who lost his three-year-old son in an accident due to a pit on the road, has himself taken up the task of erasing the pit from the streets. Manoj wakes up from the government machinery and hopes to fill these pits.
Frustrating with the government machinery, telecom engineer Manoj Kumar Wadhwa, with the help of his friends, is busy filling pits on the roads today. Many people lose their lives in accidents due to the pits emerging on the roads and no one can understand this better than Manoj, because in such an accident Manoj lost his three year old son.
On 10 February 2014, Manoj was returning from his bike after attending a family event with his wife and his three-year-old son. His son was sitting between him and his wife, while Manoj saw a pit on the highway filled with water. Manoj suddenly applied a brake in the bike, due to which the bike balance deteriorated and his son hit a stone. The spiked stone hit his son’s chest, while the speeding vehicle coming from behind passed through his wife’s feet.
Manoj hurriedly rushed his wife to the hospital, while others immediately rushed his son to another hospital, but doctors declared him dead there. After the accident, Manoj took information from two groups named Pathhole Warriors and Pathhol Raja of Mumbai to fill the pit on the roads, after which Manoj set out to fill these dangerous pits on the roads with the necessary materials.
Pathhole warriors and pathhole kings work to fill such pits on the roads after the government machinery fails. Wadhwa says that he does this work on Sunday and he hopes that the responsible government departments will wake up one day. Wadhwa says that if some people together can fill these pits, then why can’t the department and contractor do it despite all the resources available?
