Bengaluru / Bus conductor passed UPSC examination after working for 8 hours and studying 5 hours without coaching
Bengaluru A bus conductor from Bengaluru has passed the UPSC examination by studying for 5 hours daily along with a job. Madhu, 29, is a bus conductor at NC BMTC. He has passed the UPSC Pre and Mains examination and is scheduled to interview on 25 March. Madhu is survived by a brother, sister-in-law and parents. Madhu’s mother does not know the meaning of UPSC or its status, but she is also very happy with this success of her son.
Madhu has also failed in Karnataka Administrative Service Parshi in 2014. He could not achieve success in the 2018 UPAAC examination too, but he did not break his spirits. He told that he has been studying at least five hours every day.
Studied with the help of an IAS officer
This journey of Madhu has been very difficult. He reduces the conductor for eight hours every day. Distributing tickets by standing throughout the day, calling passengers in the crowd and ensuring that no passengers are out of gear, these tasks are quite tiring. Despite all this, Madhu has not left the job.
He says that by clearing the interview, he wants to be like his current boss ie IAS C Shikha, the managing director of Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation. Madhu tells about C Shikha, ‘She is helping me a lot. For the Mains exam, she has been teaching me for two hours every week how to write answers in the exam. Now she is preparing me for an interview as well. This is not the first time for Madhu.
Mains exam given in political science subject
Only after the results of the pre-exam last year, Madhu studied hard for the mains. Madhu studied political science, international relations, ethics, language as well as many other subjects for the Mains exam. He chose Political Science and International Relations as an optional subject in the Mains exam. He did the pre-exam in Kannada but wrote the mains in English.
