Nagpur / Modi to launch Metro’s Aqua line today through video conferencing

Nagpur. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Metro’s Aqua line in Nagpur through video conference. Its foundation stone was laid by the Prime Minister in the year 2014. Earlier Modi has launched Orange Line Metro.

Union ministers Nitin Gadkari and Hardeep Singh Puri will flag it off in Nagpur. Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will also attend the event through video conferencing. Apart from this, many ministers will also be present, including Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde, Home Minister Anil Deshmukh, Energy Minister Nitin Raut. The inauguration ceremony will take place at Subhash Nagar Metro station located on Hingna Marg. There will be a metro journey from Wardha Marg to Hingna for 30 rupees.

According to the Mumbai Rail Metro Corporation (MMRC), the first phase of the Aqua Line will have a total of 6 metro stations in a distance of 11 km from Lokmanya Nagar to Sitabaldi.

Operation of Metro in 660 km in 12 cities of the country

The Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) is currently operating the metro in 660 kilometers of 12 cities of the country. The country’s first metro was started in 1984 in Kolkata. During that time it was operated by the Indian Railways. After Kolkata, Delhi Metro was launched.
