If Adhir Ranjan was Adhir Khan would he make more sense? VK Singh on Congress’s Davinder Singh charge
Congress’s Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury had asked what if Jammu and Kashmir Police DSP Davinder Singh was a Muslim.
Former Army chief and BJP minister VK Singh hit back at Chowdhury and asked, ” If Adhir Ranjan was Adhir Khan, would his statement have been taken more seriously? What have we come down to? How can we give this a communal colour?”
Reacting to Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury’s demand for a fresh probe into the 2019 February Pulwama attack, VK Singh said, “Real culprits of Pulwama? What are Adhir’s doubts? Who are the culprits? Are they Indians, or some other community? All I can say he should rest for some time.”
“I wish Adhir had worn the uniform and served in Army and Kashmir, he’d have learnt some things,” the BJP MP added.
VK Singh said a probe will take place into Davinder Singh’s alleged involvement with terrorists. “Many people have fallen into traps. Davinder Singh will be subjected to sustained interrogation. Many things will be unravelled,” he said.
“Let’s trust JKP. Whatever they’ve done is irrespective whichever community they belong to,” he added.
Police on Saturday had arrested Singh, a deputy superintendent of police, at Mir Bazar in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district, along with two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists, besides an unidentified lawyer who was working as an overground worker for terror outfits.
While Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury wondered about the real culprits involved in the last year Pulwama attack, which had killed over 40 CRPF personnel, his party colleague Randeep Singh Surjewala asked if Singh was a mere pawn and sought clarifications from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
