Bengal: PM Modi likely to meet Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee during his two-day visit to Kolkata.
As per the revised itinerary, after reaching Kolkata, PM Modi’s hour-long halt at the Raj Bhavan between 4-5 pm has been “reserved”, fuelling the possibility of a one-to-one meeting with the Bengal CM before PM’s first event at the Currency Building at 5:30 pm on Saturday.
The West Bengal chief minister will be attending the 150-year celebration event of the Kolkata Port Trust on Sunday at Netaji Indoor Stadium where the prime minister will be the chief guest.
On Friday, MoS Shipping, Mansukh L Mandaviya, went to the chief minister’s office Nabbana Bhavan to invite the Mamata Banerjee. Sources said, Banerjee has consented to attend PM’s programme.
Sources say, there is a possibility of a one-on-one meeting between the two leaders on Saturday when the prime minister reaches Kolkata.
A Bengal BJP delegation is also likely to meet the PM on Saturday evening at Raj Bhavan.
