ith Hyundai Motor India all set to launch the Aura on January 21, the competition in the compact sedan segment in the country is expected to intensify. The upcoming Hyundai Aura will challenge the established players like Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze for the market share.
Hyundai Aura bookings are underway and you can reserve one for yourself by paying Rs 10,000. The payment can be made at any Hyundai dealership or through the official Hyundai website. We have already informed you that the Aura will be available in 12 variants and six colour options.
Although the price details of Hyundai Aura are not out yet, we do know its specifications. We have made below a detailed comparison of the technical specifications of the Aura, the Dzire and the Amaze.
Hyundai Aura vs Maruti Suzuki Dzire vs Honda Amaze: Engine
Hyundai Aura comes with three BS6-compliant engine options — 1.0-litre Turbo GDi petrol (100 PS and 172 Nm), 1.2-litre MPI petrol (83 PS and 114 Nm) and 1.2-litre Ecotorq diesel (75 PS and 190 Nm). All the three motors have a standard 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.2-litre petrol and diesel powertrains have an automatic option as well.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire gets two engine options — BS6-compliant, 1.2-litre, K12 VVT petrol (83 hp and 113 Nm of torque) and BS4-compliant, 1.3-litre, DDiS 190 diesel (75 hp and 190 Nm). Both the motors are available with 5-speed manual and automatic transmission options.
Honda Amaze gets two engine options — BS4-compliant, i-VTEC, 1.2-litre petrol (90 PS and 110 Nm) and BS4-compliant, i-DTEC, 1.5-litre diesel (100 PS and 200 Nm in manual and 80 PS and 160 Nm in CVT). The petrol mill also comes with manual and CVT options.

All the three compact sedans are 3,995 mm in length. The Dzire is widest at 1,735 mm, followed by the Amaze at 1695 mm and the Aura at 1,680 mm. The height of the Aura is 1,520 mm, the Dzire is 1,515 mm and the Amaze is 1,501 mm. The Amaze has the longest wheelbase at 2,470 mm, while the other two have 2,450 mm wheelbase. The Amaze also has the largest boot at 420 litres, followed by the Aura at 402 litres and the Dzire at 378 litres.
