While eight months pregnant with daughter Ori, the Wonder Woman star faced a medical emergency that required brain surgery, leaving her grateful for a second chance at life.

Hollywood star Gal Gadot recently opened up about a terrifying health crisis she experienced during her pregnancy with her youngest daughter, Ori. The Wonder Woman actress revealed that she suffered a “massive brain clot” while eight months pregnant — a condition that could have had fatal consequences if left untreated.

Gadot shared that her ordeal began with weeks of severe headaches, which left her confined to bed. Despite the discomfort, she initially brushed it off as pregnancy-related. It was only after her mother insisted on an MRI in February 2024 that doctors discovered a cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) — a rare but serious blood clot in the brain.

Once diagnosed, Gadot was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. In a race against time, she delivered her daughter Ori and then underwent emergency brain surgery. Reflecting on the experience, Gadot said she woke up after the procedure realizing she had been given two gifts: her healthy baby in her arms and a second chance at life.

“All I wanted was to hold on and live,” she said, describing the emotional rollercoaster of that period.

Gadot emphasized that sharing her story is not only personal but also a way to raise awareness about CVT and the importance of listening to one’s body. Though rare, cerebral blood clots during pregnancy can be life-threatening, and early detection can save lives.

The actress expressed deep gratitude to her medical team, crediting them with saving both her life and her baby’s. She also encouraged expectant mothers to take persistent symptoms seriously, no matter how minor they may seem.

Gadot’s experience is a stark reminder of the fragility of life, the importance of self-advocacy, and the incredible resilience of the human spirit. Her daughter Ori, whose name means “light,” stands as a symbol of hope and survival from this harrowing ordeal.
