Shirley Ballas enrages fans from the Wirral by declaring she is ‘from Liverpool’

Shirley Ballas has awakened the wrath of people from her home time after she claimed she was ‘from Liverpool’ while on a celebrity episode of Family Fortunes.

The 60-year-old Strictly Come Dancing judge was a contestant on the ITV game show alongside boyfriend Danny Taylor and three of her cousins.

Dance star Shirley has frequently spoken up about being from Wallasey on Wirral – marking herself out as a proud local of the cosmopolitan borough which is located just east of Liverpool.

So fans tuning in to see the local lass on Family Fortunes can perhaps be forgiven for blowing a gasket when she introduced herself and her team as being “from Liverpool”.

Another fan tweeted the star directly, writing: “@ShirleyBallas from Wallasey on Family Fortunes….meet the Ballas family from Liverpool. But great charity CALM.”

And another huffed: “Why does Shirley say she is from Liverpool when she is from my hometown of Birkenhead?”

An approved biography of the dance star states that Shirley was born and raised in Wallasey which is a town within the Metropolitan Borough of Wirral, in Merseyside.

Meanwhile, Shirley’s Family Fortunes appearance drew attention for another reason when an innuendo heavy conversation gave an insight into her sex life with 47-year-old boyfriend Daniel.

Twitter is publicly declaring Joe Biden the winner of the US election — on Trump’s own tweets

If you read my previous post, you might have noticed a brand-new Twitter label on Trump’s latest wildly misleading tweet: “Election officials have certified Joe Biden as the winner of the U.S. Presidential election.” Yes, Twitter is now calling the election for Joe Biden on Trump’s own tweets.

Twitter tells us it’s simply an update to its existing label, designed to “reflect the latest information.”

But there’s a staggering difference between this label and Twitter’s previous one, which simply said “Multiple sources called this election differently.” That left room for doubt. Now that the Electoral College has voted, Twitter not only accepting the result, but using it to visibly challenge the president’s ongoing lie that he won the election.

You can see the first new example below.

Will this keep Trump from repeatedly tweeting “I won”? Doubtful, but I wouldn’t be surprised if his tweets get a little more creative, if he vents more anger at Twitter, or both.

Here’s how Trump’s same misleading statements look on Facebook today, for comparison.

Elementary and Preschool Reopen with a Common Front Declaring The Safest Place in NYC | The State

After being closed for three weeks due to the increase in COVID-19 cases In New York City, this Monday began the process of reopening face-to-face classes, with the arrival of thousands of preschool and elementary school students to the campuses.

And although the day was characterized by scenes of joy that were seen on the faces of many children, and the concern of some parents at the growing wave of new infections of COVID-19 In the Big Apple, the message from the City, physicians, experts, and educational institution staff is that schools are a very safe place today.

While the COVID-19 infections in the city are around 5%, with 0.28% As an index of new cases when the schools were ordered to close in November, it is according to experts the best confirmation that schools do not represent a source of spread of the coronavirus and the goal of the City will be to maintain that panorama.

This was stated by the mayor, Bill de Blasio, after declaring himself very happy with the reopening of 850 school buildings throughout the city, which they hope to receive this week 190,000 children.

The president insisted on asking parents to trust the school system and gave his word that they will continue to do what is possible to keep students safe, teachers and staff.

“We have 850 places where there is joy and hope again because the children have returned to school,” he said. De Blasio, warning that an important key to keeping the coronavirus boom under control will be testing, so he asked the parents of the children for help in this new process.

“We need your help to continue filling out those (testing) consent forms. Today, a large, large majority of parents have already completed consent forms. Any parent who has not had the opportunity to do it, right there, when they arrived, they were doing it, they were ready to see their children take the test, “said the president, warning that the goal is that the children who opted for face-to-face classes they can be in schools five days a week.

“We will continue to strive for that to be the maximum number of children possible, gaining that learning five days a week (…) I have absolute confidence that our school communities are doing an incredible job, they really take care of each other. And with the masks, the ventilation, the social distancing, all tied together to keep people safe, it’s remarkable. “

Mayor He also noted that District 75 special education programs will reopen on Thursday and in high-contagion areas of Staten Island, schools will open on Wednesday.

“We must keep everyone safe, that is the key. But, for everyone in the school community, they have done an incredible job. And the schools in this city are among the safest places to be. So, with the additional weekly tests ”, added De Blasio.

Michael Mulgew, President of the United Federation of Teachers (UFT), he understood the fear and concern of some parents and teachers, but he was along the same lines as the Mayor and also assured that the schools at this moment they are safe.

“The road to reopening New York City public schools in the face of coronavirus has been a long and difficult journey, frustrating both parents and teachers. But now we have a testing process in place that should allow us to keep schools open for our youngest and neediest children until the new vaccines end the pandemic, if all New Yorkers can come together and follow medical safety guidelines, ”said the teacher spokesperson highlighting the importance of COVID testing. “A key to this reopening was the UFT’s insistence on testing even more aggressive (20% of students and staff every week), even in areas that have very low levels of infection.”

Henry Chan, president of the group of doctors We are, who works in hundreds of places around the city to carry out the tests and has participated in the tests in schools, called on parents not to fall into the fear of thinking that they send their children to classes face-to-face will put them at risk.

“Schools are right now, according to City data, the safest place there is in New York. No place is so safe, because contrary to the increase and the high figures above 3% in infections in different parts, the schools have controlled and very low infections, ”said Chan.

Despite his reassuring message, the doctor warned that urges more and more children to be tested to ensure that they will not spread the outbreak.

“Schools are safe spaces, but we still need to do more testing, not just for them, but for the parents, grandparents, and adults around them. Children do not pose much danger from COVID, but they can have it and pass it to their parents and if they have diseases like diabetes, it can be very dangerous. The key is proof, ”Chen added, calling on the City to keep in mind speak to immigrant communities in their language.

“Minorities need more information in different languages. Messages must be sent to larger communities, community centers and schools in multiple languages, as we have tried to do at SOMOS. And now that the vaccine arrives that will also be very important, educating in several languages so that everyone can use it ”.

The Latin Pediatrician Denise Nunez, Also from SOMOS, he joined the message of safety in schools and said that the key to this new stage will be in communication between the different school levels and parents and children.

“First you have to stay calm, because nervous people are not going to think well. We must keep abreast of all official health notifications that are given, they should try to communicate with their pediatricians and think that if the children have everything in order, keep their distance and put on masks, the level of infectious disease will be low ” mentioned the doctor.

The medical expert added that the City “Must learn from their mistakes” and asked parents and teachers to be creative when educating children and adolescents about the use of the mask, not with impositions, but by making them see why they should have it.

Susana porraA mother of two fourth and fifth grade boys, who attend PS 11 in Manhattan, she was confident that the schools will keep New York children safe and was glad that her children have returned to face-to-face classes.

“We are going through a difficult stage throughout the city, but this school is always very clean, they do everything to keep our children well and the most important thing is that for their well-being, so that they share with others and learn better, we must send them to classes ”, said the Ecuadorian mother.

Fanny Rodriguez, who was also picking up her 7-year-old, also admitted that for “The mental health of children and parents”, It is better that they are in face-to-face classes than just remote, but she confessed that she is still not very sure that they are not a source of propagation.

“I think they are better at school than at home, because they will never learn the same on a computer as with a teacher, but I am still afraid that they will suddenly get sick and that the older ones in the house will get sick, but God first. Hopefully this nightmare will pass soon ”, said the mother.

Chancellor of Education, Richard Carranza, commented that of the schools that reopened, a total of 150 will have full days of 5 days with their students, as happens regularly, and warned that the goal of the City is that in addition to being safe spaces, soon all children can return to that scheme. At the same time, he admitted that remote classes or the hybrid system can generate difficulties at the learning level, but added that he hopes that everything will soon be regularized.

“I am very proud of our teachers in New York City because they are working so hard to intervene when they see that students are not doing well or are not doing as well as they can. So, we are being very active. But again, each phase of this pandemic has meant that it is an imperfect way of teaching and learning. And we can’t wait for us all to get back in person, 100 percent“Said the official.

The reopening of schools in NYC in data

  • 850 schools reopened this Monday and December in NYC
  • 150 NYC schools already have 5 full days of school for children
  • 190,000 students are expected to return to classes in person this week

  • 4,000 was on average the number of daily tests in schools

He also garnered the lion’s share of the popular vote.

Copeland’s sarcastic laughter over his own comments continued for 40 seconds whipping the crowd up into a frenzy before ending with a final ‘whoop!’ from the pastor.

Soon, some of the gathered faithful were laughing so hard several of them took to their feet to continue laughing alongside the multimillionaire televangelist.

‘For a group of people transfixed on demons and the antichrist, they sure have a hard time spotting what’s right in front of them,’ wrote one Twitter user.

‘I defy anyone to watch that 41 seconds and tell me demonic possession isn’t a thing,’ added another.

‘Christ this is something straight out of a Monty Python skit,’ said one.

‘Doesn’t everyone laugh like that?’ joked another viewer of the clip.

Copeland is frequently the subject of bizarre videos that surface online.

Early in the coronavirus pandemic he claimed to ‘blow the virus away’ in front of worshippers.

‘Wind! Almighty! Strong! South wind! Heat! Burn this thing! In the name of Jesus,’ Copeland yelled into the camera in April.

‘Satan bow your knees. Fall on your face!’ Copland said.

The televangelist claimed in the spring that the pandemic would be ‘over much sooner you think’ because ‘Christian people all over this country praying have overwhelmed it.’

In March, the pastor ‘executed judgment’ on the virus and declared it to be ‘finished’ while demanding  ‘a vaccination to come immediately.’

Texas has recently been seeing a spike in coronavirus infections with almost one million people infected and almost 19,000 deaths in the state alone.

In April, the televangelist appears to blow a raspberry at the illness in the belief it would magically disappear altogether

Chris Wallace and other news anchors blast Trump for declaring premature victory in election

TV anchors including Chris Wallace, Jake Tapper and Savannah Guthrie have slammed Donald Trump for prematurely declaring victory in the presidential election.

The Commander-in-chief spoke from the White House early Wednesday morning claiming to have won states that were too close to call and asserting that Democrats were engaged in a fraudulent effort to steal the Presidency from him.

Trump made the remarks as votes were still being counted in crucial swing states including Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.

‘This is an extremely flammable situation and the president just threw a match into it,’ Chris Wallace stated on Fox News broadcast.

‘He hasn’t won these states. Nobody is saying he’s won the states. The states haven’t said that he’s won.’

Trump is seen speaking early Wednesday morning as ballots continued to be counted in crucial swing states

Fox News host Chris Wallace has slammed Donald Trump for prematurely declaring victory in the presidential election

Despite the ideological differences between Fox and CNN, the sentiments over at the left-leaning news network were the same.

Host Jake Tapper stated: ‘Almost everything President Trump said in his declaration of victory was not true’.

Meanwhile, NBC News cut into Trump’s speech to fact check the Commander-in-chief.

Host Savannah Guthrie told viewers: ‘We’re listening to the President speaking at the White House, but we’ve got to dip in here because there have been several statements that are just frankly not true.’

Other TV news anchors were also quick to chide Trump for his comments, including CNN's Jake Tapper (pictured)

During his White House speech, Trump also vowed to mount a Supreme Court case, claiming he wanted ‘all voting to stop’ in case Democrats tried to deceitfully add ballots to the count.

He stated: ‘This is a major fraud in our nation. We want the law to be used in a proper manner. So we’ll be going to the US Supreme Court. We want all voting to stop. We don’t want them to find any ballots at four o’clock in the morning and add them to the list. ‘

Wallace attacked Trump for that statement, telling Fox News viewers: ‘Voting to stop, yes, but vote counting? You know, these states, by state law, all have the opportunity, and states routinely are unable to count votes by election night or early into the morning of the day after the election, and it goes on for days

‘I don’t know if he literally meant that he’s gonna try to stop the counting of the vote, but I would think that would be extremely inflammatory, and frankly, I don’t think it’s something the courts will allow.’

On other networks, news anchors were also quick to chide Trump for those remarks.

ABC Correspondent Terry Moran accused the President of flouting the democratic process, stating: ‘This isn’t law, this isn’t politics, this is theater. And let’s be blunt: it’s the theater of authoritarianism.’

On MSNBC, Brian Williams stated that Trump’s claim about electoral fraud were ‘not based in the facts at all.’

Rick Santorum

Chris Christie

Rick Santorum (left), the Republican former senator from Pennsylvania, and Chris Christie (right), the former New Jersey governor and adviser to President Trump, criticized the president on Wednesday for  prematurely declaring victory

However, it wasn’t just new anchors who were quick to critique the President.

Staunch Trump supporters and right-wing commentators also lashed out at Trump for falsely declaring victory and stating that the system was fraudulent.

‘Tonight was not the time to make this argument,’ Trump ally and former Republican governor, Chris Christie, stated on ABC.

‘It’s gotta be bigger [than politics]. I disagree with what he did tonight. There comes a point where you have to let the process play out before you judge it to have been flawed.’

‘By prematurely [declaring victory], if there is a flaw in it later, he has undercut his own credibility in calling attention to that flaw.

‘So I think it’s a bad strategic decision. It’s a bad political decision.’

Meanwhile, Rick Santorum, the Republican former senator from Pennsylvania and CNN commentator who is largely sympathetic to Trump, also criticized the president on Wednesday.

‘I was very distressed by what I heard the president say,’ Santorum said.

‘Using the word ‘fraud’ [to describe] people counting votes is wrong.

‘I understand he sees votes potentially being shifted around in some places, but the reality is what’s happening in Pennsylvania is they’re counting the absentee and mail-in ballots now.’

‘Some counties have stopped counting,’ Santorum said. ‘Why have they stopped counting? Because it’s 2:48 in the morning now.’

‘That’s why they’ve stopped counting. People get tired, they make mistakes, and you stop counting. You take it up the next morning when people are fresh and everybody has a chance to make sure they’re not making mistakes.’

The former senator added: ‘They are not stopping counting because they are trying to fix anything or create any sort of fraud.’

‘There’s plenty of people there – poll watchers and others who are watching the counting.’

House Rep. Adam Kinzinger, a Republican from Illinois, tweeted: ‘Stop. Full stop. The votes will be counted and you will either win or lose.

‘And America will accept that. Patience is a virtue.’

Elsewhere, other conservatives who support Trump also took the president to task.

Author and podcaster Ben Shapiro tweeted: ‘No, Trump has not already won the election, and it is deeply irresponsible for him to say he has.’

Rich Lowry, the editor of the conservative National Review, said Trump’s speech was ‘bad.’

He noted that Vice President Mike Pence, who in his remarks that he gave after Trump spoke did not support the president’s claims, ‘tried to fix it by saying ‘on the path to victory,’ but there was no unringing the bell.’

‘On top of the sheer irresponsibility of it, Trump contradicted himself on whether he wants the votes to keep being counted or stop being counted,’ Lowry tweeted.
