Alex Cohen is “so proud” of husband Steve Cohen.
During Cohen’s introductory press conference on Tuesday as the new Mets owner, wife Alex celebrated her No. 1 guy on Twitter.
“That’s my guy! I’m so proud of him!” she tweeted.
Cohen, whose bid to purchase the Mets for $2.4 billion was approved in late October, lauded his wife’s charitable endeavors during the press conference and noted the role she’ll have with the Mets’ philanthropic endeavors. He also about his World Series aspirations for the immediate future.
“One team wins the World Series every year, so that’s a pretty high bar,” Cohen said. “But if I don’t win a World Series in the next three to five years — I would like to make it sooner — then obviously I would consider that slightly disappointing.”
Cohen also tipped his cap to the Mets’ passionate fanbase.
“I relate to them. I know how they feel,” he said. “These are smart fans, they know what they’re talking about. And if they’re emotional, that means they care.”
As for Alex, she brought her Mets love to Twitter last week, updating her background to a photo of Mr. and Mrs. Met.
