PCB said- If India does not come to Pakistan to play Asia Cup, then we will not go to play T20 World Cup

PCB said- If India does not come to Pakistan to play Asia Cup, then we will not go to play T20 World Cup.

Islamabad The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday 25 January warned India that if India does not come to play Asia Cup then we will not go to them to play T20 World Cup. In 2021, India will host the T20 World Cup. At the same time, Asia Cup T20 is to be held in Pakistan in September this year. PCB CEO Wasim Khan informed about this. He also dismissed the rumor that the PCB had handed over the Bangladesh Cup to the Bangladesh team in exchange for playing in Pakistan.

PCB is considering two other places to host Asia Cup

Wasim also said that due to tensions with India, Pakistan is also considering two other places to host the Asia Cup. Team India has not visited Pakistan since 2008. At the same time, Pakistan’s team did not come to India after 2012. Cricket Expert believes that the biggest obstacle for PCB to host Asia Cup in Pakistan will be whether India will agree to play there due to security reasons.

ICC Chief Executive to visit Islamabad and Lahore

Wasim Khan further said, a security representative team of Cricket South Africa will visit Pakistan in February to take stock of the security situation. The PCB has called South Africa to Pakistan for the 3 T20 series in March-April. This series can happen after Pakistan Super League. ICC Chief Executive Manu Sawhney will next round Islamabad and Lahore. Meanwhile, PCB will try to acquire the rights to host at least three ICC events after 2023 to 2031.
