Alex Telles pushing for Porto transfer exit after Man Utd contact agents again

[ad_1]

Alex Telles will push to leave Porto over the coming days after Manchester United made contact once again.

The Red Devils are keen on signing a left-back after making it a top matter of business this summer.

Luke Shaw has been without real competition since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over.

And, as well as Jadon Sancho, it has become a priority for him in the transfer window.

However, United have missed out on their top target after Tottenham landed Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid ahead of them.

It has led the Old Trafford outfit to their secondary target – Porto star Telles.

Furthermore, it had emerged this week that United were in contact with his agent, Pini Zahavi, over a five-year contract.

But as the Red Devils faltered against Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday night, more talks had been going on.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Telles is set to push for a departure from the Estadio do Dragao.

Manchester United are looking to plot their path back to the top. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already brought in Donny van de Beek but Jadon Sancho remains Manchester United’s number one target.

The 27-year-old could cost as little as £17m, with Porto wary of his contract situation.

Telles will become a free agent next summer and the Primeira Liga outfit would rather sell now than lose him for nothing the following year.

Romano further reported that United are monitoring proceedings and are considering an opening bid.

Meanwhile, the chances of landing Sancho so late in the window get less and less with everyday that goes by.

Borussia Dortmund have stuck to the £109m price tag and such a large sum of money would be hard to pluck out of think air right now.

As a result, there have been alternative targets in mind at Old Trafford – including Watford ace Ismaila Sarr, who would cost £40m.

Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic is also under consideration after it emerged he would not be returning to Bayern Munich.

Douglas Costa and Kingsley Coman are also being eyed, while Solskjaer was asked about transfers prior to facing Palace.

He said: “We understand to get further we need to develop what we have and strengthen the team, but let’s wait and see if we manage to bring anyone in.

“I’ve been in dialogue with the club. We’re always discussing.

“We want to take a step forward and we can go into the new season with confidence, but we’re looking to give the group a boost and we’re working on it.”
