Dhoni has been with the Chennai team since the first season of IPL i.e. 2008. He did not play for the franchise only when the team was suspended for two years. Chennai has won the IPL thrice under the captaincy of this wicketkeeper batsman.
Dhoni will play IPL for at least two years
The BCCI on Thursday excluded him from the Central Contract List. There was speculation about his retirement since then, but he has made it clear by starting practice with the Jharkhand team that he is ready for the IPL. He last played an international match in the World Cup semi-final against New Zealand last year.
