Susanna Reid says her special 50th birthday celebration left her in tears
Emotional Susanna Reid says her family made turning 50 that much easier after celebrating the milestone occasion last month.
The Good Morning Britain presenter loved her landmark birthday in December – even if the family couldn’t all go out for a big meal.
She has spoken about her three sons making it a day to remember.
But her brother then got the tears flowing after putting together a cute family video for the big day.
Susanna has spoken about life in lockdown with You Magazine but she said age is not an issue any more as there is no longer a cut-off point for women in her job.
Kids Sam, 18, Finn, 16, and 15-year-old Jack pushed the boat out and put together a perfect breakfast in bed to kick it all off.
“My sons are great boys, they made my birthday the best ever,” she said.
“The night before my birthday I could hear them downstairs giggling. My middle son came upstairs and said: ‘Mum, if you could have the perfect breakfast, what would it be?’
“When you’ve tried to make every birthday special for them and now they want to do it for you, there’s something magical about that.”
It wasn’t just her three boys who made an effort
“I was overwhelmed with generosity and love from my family,” she added. “I spent a lot of it in tears of joy, to be honest.”
Her brother’s moving video captured various members of her family including her parents.
Another friend had also gifted her images of Susanna with her children over the years.
Her mother put together a wonderful book of photographs which had stories to go with them.
