Corona: Butler raised 60 lakh rupees from World Cup final shirt
England wicketkeeper batsman Jose Butler has contributed to the fight against the Corona virus. He has raised more than 65,000 pounds (about 60 lakh rupees) to help with the auction of the shirt worn in the World Cup final last year.
Butler, 29, wore this shirt during the final against New Zealand at Lord’s last year. He raised the money for Royal Brampton and Hurtfield Hospital in London.
Butler, who was run out on the last ball of the match and scored a half-century earlier in the match, put the shirt up for auction on eBay a week ago.
When its auction closed on Tuesday, there were 82 bids for it, in which the winner would have to pay 65,100 pounds.
