It’s a Blast Off! China launches spaceship named ‘Divine Vessel’ with three astronauts into space
The Shenzhou-12 was launched on Thursday morning.

- The travel time is less than two days, unlike the previous missions.
- The team consists of three astronauts.
Jiuquan, China:Â In a bid to mark an all-important milestone, China recently launched a spaceship with three astronauts that were docked at the country’s space station in Jiuquan for a three-month mission.
The spaceship is called Shenzhou-12, also known as the ‘Divine Vessel.’ The space station is situated at the edge of the Gobi Desert. Six hours after the takeoff, they connected with the Tianhe space station.
According to the Associated Press, the team of three astronauts is sent with the objective of carrying out experiments, test equipment as well as prepare the station so that two more laboratory modules can be sent there next year. The team was greeted with a lot of cheer and love from the country.
Before the blast-off, the astronauts were seen off by the space officials as well as the common public who was present with balloons and sang patriotic songs.
This is the first time an all-male crew has gone into space. Earlier, women have been a part of the last two missions but they will still remain a part of the crew.
In the past, the travel time taken to reach the rather ambitious space station was two days. Due to many ‘breakthroughs’ and ‘experiments’, the duration has been brought down. The mission’s deputy chief engineer, Gao Xu, told the news organization, “Improvements include an increase in the number of automated and remote-controlled systems should significantly lessen the pressure on the astronauts.”
Not being a part of USA’s International Space Station, China has been working with Russia and other countries to work on its space station and project. The three-month mission will determine how successful the entire operation it will be.
