Ex-EastEnders star Samantha Womack and ex-Corrie star Oliver Farnworth find love
Ex-EastEnders star Samantha Womack and ex-Coronation Street star Oliver Farnworth have found love during lockdown.
The 48-year-old BBC star was well known for playing Albert Square’s Ronnie Mitchell from 2007 to 2017, while 38-year-old Oliver featured on the cobbles of Corrie as Andy Carver from 2014 to 2017.
The duo worked together on a stage adaptation of the Paula Hawkins novel The Girl On The Train in 2018 but their romance sparked last year during lockdown.
Sam was married to 60-year-old Emmerdale star Mark Womack in 2009, but the pair split in 2018, but continued to live together in their Bedfordshire farmhouse with their two kids.
Sam and Mark are parents to children Benjamin, 19, and Lili Rose, 15, while she is also stepmum to Mark’s son Michael, 25, from a previous relationship.
The Sun on Sunday reports Sam and Oliver have now embarked on a romance after Sam’s marriage crumbled.
A source told the publication: “Samantha’s chemistry with Oliver was clear to see on stage and they remained close after the production.
“They couldn’t be happier and have loved dating away from the public eye.
“They’ve met each other’s families and it all feels very natural. They’re totally smitten with each other.
“Plus her ex Mark is happy for her too. It’s all very grown-up and modern.”
Samantha’s on-screen sister, 44-year-old Rita Simons, who played Ronnie Mitchell from 2007 to 2017, also recently found love.
The soap star was last year said to be dating her Legally Blonde The Musical co-star Ben Harlow after splitting from her husband, Theo Silverston.
The ex-EastEnders actress’s marriage came to an end after 14 years.
The couple share two daughters with Theo moving out of the family home ‘some time ago’, according to Rita’s rep, when news of their split broke last summer.
