Oscar snubs 2021: Tom Hanks, Zendaya, Jodie Foster, Jared Leto and Regina King were left off the list as was Spike Lee for directing Da 5 Bloods
The Oscar nominations were announced early on Monday morning by power couple Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas via livestream from the UKfor the Motion Picture Academy.
There were several nods that were expected such as The Father, Judas and the Black Messiah, Mank, Minari, Nomadland, Promising Young Woman, Sound of Metal and The Trial of the Chicago 7, which were all nominated for Best Picture.
But there were several snubs as well which took fans by surprise.

Zendaya did not receive any Oscar love for her work in Malcolm & Marie alongside Denzel Washington’s son David Washington.
Regina King was left off the list for directing the film One Night In Miami. The 50-year-old powerhouse had received a Golden Globe nomination so this was unexpected.

Stacey Abrams for All In: The Fight for Democracy was not on the list for the Liz Garbus and Lisa Cortes helmed documentary.
The 93rd Academy Awards will take place in-person from multiple locations, including the Dolby Theatre, on April 25, after being pushed back from its original February 28 date.
