National Assembly: Arruda gives the green light for the return of parliamentarians

The national director of public health, Horacio Arruda, finally gave the green light for the return of parliamentarians, next week, in limited numbers and with strengthened health measures.

According to information obtained by our Parliamentary Bureau, the maximum number of MPs who could sit in the Blue Room as of next Tuesday will be limited to 37, as was the case last fall.

However, additional sanitary measures will have to be applied, possibly the addition of Plexiglas, for example.

The parliamentary leaders of the various political parties must now agree on the follow-up to be given to the public health recommendations.

In particular, the government parliamentary wing proposed to postpone the start of the school year by a week, while opposition parties plead for a rapid resumption of work.
