AJ Pritchard hints he will marry girlfriend Abbie Quinnen after lockdown
AJ Pritchard has hinted that there may be wedding bells after lockdown as he grows closer to girlfriend Abbie Quinnen.
The 26-year-old former Strictly Come Dancing professional, who recently starred in I’m A Celebrity, reckons that the coronavirus pandemic lockdown has seen him form an unbreakable bond with fellow dancer Abbie.
The couple have been together for two years and they share a home in London and AJ has likened their possible future to a couple of Netflix’s biggest series.
Speaking to The Sun, AJ said: “You know when you see a series like Below Deck or Selling Sunset and there’s a wedding? We always love talking about weddings.”
TV shows in which houses are given a makeover or redesign are also on their watch list, with AJ saying that they keep saying: “In our future house we’ll do this’.
Speaking about the bedrock to their relationship, AJ said: “We were best friends before… and I think that really hits home that we love spending time together.”
He said that being forced to be together due to lockdown has been “great”.
He added that there had been “no downside” and “no arguments.”
AJ slammed couples in the public eye who have “more of a social media thing” and said that him and Abbie are “really happy together.”
While wedding plans may be in their early stages, a more pressing problem for the couple is to see whether they can encourage AJ’s brother Curtis to move out of the spare room.
AJ said that the lockdown has led them to rethink their living status and that they need to find new accommodation “sooner rather then later.”
Curtis has said that he has ditched his Love Island pals after landing a role on reality TV show Celebs Go Dating.
The 24-year-old professional dancer was relatively close to his former co-stars when he dated Irish beauty Maura Higgins, 30, for seven months after they met on the ITV2 series in 2019.
Since their split last March, it appears Curtis has decided to keep his life more private as he revealed he hasn’t seen or spoken to any of his former pals since he and Maura split.
He appeared on Steph’s Packed Lunch, where stand-in host, Strictly winner Bill Bailey, asked him if he still speaks to his co-stars.
Curtis replied: “I haven’t, no. I’m just going to tell you straight, I actually really haven’t to be fair.
“Since everything that’s gone down like lockdowns and this and that, I’ve just focused on myself and done me.”
AJ interrupted the conversation and joked: “Is it because you’ve got rid of the Love Island ones and now you’ve gone on to Celebs Go Dating friends?
“You’ve got a whole new WhatsApp group that’s gone from one to the other now!”
