Although the week is not yet over, the average number of cases recorded each day in the region has dropped to around 91, 34 fewer new infections daily than last week.

There are now 20 911 infected in Quebec since the start of the pandemic.

The same situation can also be observed on the other side of the river, in Chaudière-Appalaches, which reports 46 more cases in 24 hours.

The average daily case has nearly halved from last week, from 101 to 56 new carriers of the virus each day.

For its part, the Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean recorded its lowest moving average since October 8, with 19 daily cases. On Saturday, regional public health had identified only 17 more cases.

This heavy toll, almost as high as the day before, now brings the total of coronavirus-related deaths to 875 in the region.

In Chaudière-Appalaches, the virus claimed two additional victims, for a total of 234.
