The gloves were made by Jen ellis, a 42-year-old second-grade teacher and hobbyist living in Essex Junction, outside Burlington, where Sanders was mayor in the 1980s. Ellis gave Sanders the gloves five years ago during his campaign.

In an interview with the site Jewish Insider, Ellis said she was honored to learn that Sanders was wearing her gloves after they went viral on social media. “It was something unexpected,” Ellis said but added who received about 6,000 emails thanks to an old tweet where he had announced some of the products he makes.
Ellis, who is not an active user on social networks, wanted to reconnect to the social network to announce that unfortunately, she had none of her products left and that her gloves, which she calls “swittens“They were exhausted.
Ellis has no plans to make any more pieces of the gloves it offered at craft shows and online. “I’m glad they want them, fortunately there are many people who sell them and I hope they can get them.” She assured that she does not plan to lose her job as a second grade teacher, a job that keeps her “extremely busy.”

It’s not the first time Sanders’ gloves have been in the spotlight. Last year she took them to the Women’s March in Portsmouth, New Hampshire; some called them “kitchen gloves” and even a Twitter account was born @BerniesMittens, as recorded by the Seven Days site.
