Lady Gaga makes a plea for peace in stunning gown with gold dove during her inauguration performance

Lady Gaga was a vision of glamour as she took the stage at the inauguration of the 46th President Of The United States, Joseph R. Biden.

All eyes were on the Million Reasons singer, 34, who made a patriotic statement in her stunning blue and red Schiaparelli ballgown.

Sending a message of unity, the native New Yorker’s dress was adorned with a striking gold dove, reaching out to its rivals with an olive branch in its mouth.

Gaga’s frock was expertly tailored, anchoring her 5foot2 figure with navy blue wool bodice with long sleeves, sturdy shoulders and a tapered waist. 

The sleek silhouette of the top was contrasted with a billowing red skirt, which provided maximum amounts of drama as the star sauntered towards the stage escorted by Marines.

She wove a ribbon through her platinum blonde locks, twisting her tresses into a braided crown. Matching the gilded dove on her chest, the Joanne singer donned gold olive branch earrings and a color-coordinated earpiece.

For makeup, Gaga – real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta – kept classic, opting for bold brows and a brick red lip.

She kept her head high as she made it to the balcony and grabbed a golden microphone. Then she began to croon, singing a stirring version of the Star Spangled Banner.

The often-avant-garde songstress took a traditional approach for the performance, showing off her unparalleled vocal strength with a effortlessly artful version of The National Anthem.

President Joe beamed in the background, unable to hide his glee. And he wasn’t the only Gaga fan in the audience, as the star was seen in an emotional embrace with President Barack Obama following her song.

Later, she shared a close look at the dove detail on her Twitter, writing: ‘A dove carrying an olive branch. May we all make peace with each other.’

Yesterday the Stupid Love singer also shared a message of peace, offering a prayer as she shared a snapshot from the nation’s capitol.

Appearing in all white with the camera positioned under her chin to reveal the historic Apotheosis Of Washington mural in the Capitol Rotunda, Gaga told fans: ‘I pray tomorrow will be a day of peace for all Americans. 

‘A day for love, not hatred. A day for acceptance not fear. A day for dreaming of our future joy as a country. A dream that is non-violent, a dream that provides safety for our souls. Love, from the Capitol.’

Gaga is a huge fan of the new President. She went to bat for the former VP back in October, when she helped him campaign in Pennsylvania during the final days before the 2020 election.

She was just one of the A-list entertainers who had the honor of singing during the inauguration.

Jennifer Lopez sang a medley of This Land Is Your Land and America The Beautiful, even sneaking in a line from her track Let’s Get Loud in near the end.

Country favorite Garth Brooks serenaded the crowd with Amazing Grace, which he made unforgettable after inviting the small audience to sing along.

But the fun wasn’t stopping there.

Though the inauguration is usually followed by a slew of star-studded balls, most of this year’s celebrations will be taking place virtually.

Tonight’s Celebrating America primetime special will be hosted by Tom Hanks and feature stars like Eva Longoria, Kerry Washington, John Legend, Bruce Springsteen, poet Amanda Gorman, The Foo Fighters, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Jon Bon Jovi, Lin Manuel Miranda, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Black Pumas, The New Radicals, Tony Goldwyn, Keke Palmer, Jon Stewart, TikTok sensation Nathan Apodaca, and more.

This year’s oath of office was very different from years past. 

Instead of a parade down Pennsylvania Avenue, there was a memorial at Arlington National Cemetery and in place of balls, there will be Zoom parties. 

Hundreds of thousands congregating on the Capitol grounds and on the National Mall have been replaced by thousands of National Guard members.

The measures reflect restrictions to curb the spread of the coronavirus and heightened security after a mob of Trump supporters breached the Capitol two weeks ago, sending lawmakers into hiding and leaving five people dead, including a police officer.

Tens of thousands of National Guard troops have been deployed in the U.S. capital after law enforcement warned some extremist Trump backers were calling for more violence. 

As Biden officially became president, Trump had landed in Florida, heading to his Mar-a-Lago estate. Leaving the White House for the final time, Trump stopped briefly to speak to reporters, saying it had been the ‘honor of a lifetime’ to serve as President.

At Joint Base Andrews, he told a crowd of reporters that he would be back ‘in some form’ and before flying off on Air Force One, he told everyone present: ‘Have a nice life.’
