On Tuesday it was claimed that a Willy Wonka prequel titled Wonka was is in development at Warner Bros, according to Deadline. The release date will be March 17, 2023.
It was added that the studio is ‘looking at’ actors Tom Holland or Timothee Chalamet to play Willy.

The movie will be a prequel to Roald Dahl’s Charlie And The Chocolate Factory.
The material has already been made into a 1971 film with Gene Wilder and Peter Ostrum, and a 2005 flick with Johnny Depp, Franziska Troegner and Adam Godley.

According to Collider, the role of a young Willy may go to 24-year-old Holland or 25-year-old Chalamet.
Holland is currently filming a third Spider-Man movie and Chalamet will play Bob Dylan next.
