A man in his twenties was shot and wounded in the Ville-Marie area of Montreal early Tuesday.
Police officers notified at around 2:30 a.m. located the victim, who had been shot in the upper body by a projectile, on rue Baile, near rue du Fort, where cartridge cases were found.
The victim was taken care of by paramedics near rue Sainte-Catherine Ouest, before being transported to a hospital for serious injuries which did not endanger his life.
The young man must undergo medical examinations, said Raphaël Bergeron of the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
The police have few details on the suspect (s), since the victim collaborates very little with the authorities who could not determine whether the event would have taken place inside an apartment on Baile Street or simply in the ‘outside.
A security perimeter has been erected to allow investigators to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this attempted murder.
