A Los Angeles judge granted director Steven Spielberg’s request for permanent protection from an alleged stalker.
Sarah Char, 48, is ordered to stay 100 yards away from the Oscar winner and his family for the next three years, according to legal documents obtained by TMZÂ on Monday.
The outlet had previously reported that Spielberg, 74, first got a temporary order protection after authorities alerted him to the fact that Char had attempted to purchase a gun with the intention of killing him.Â

Steven and his wife Kate Capshaw can sleep a bit easier now that his alleged stalker has been banned from ‘harassing, intimidating or threatening’ the ET director.
The outlet added that the order of protection also prohibits Char from impersonating the award-winner.Â
Char must keep away from the workplace and home of Spielberg, Capshaw and their daughter and is not allowed to contact or tag him in social media posts, TMZ reported.Â
Spielberg first sought protection from Char in December after he claimed police had informed him that Char had attempted to buy a gun in order to kill him. Â

The filmmaker also reported receiving a direct message on Twitter from Char reading: ‘If I have to personally MURDER people for stealing my IPs‚ I WILL. Get me?’Â
The filing documents also claimed that Char had previously been arrested for harassment, making threats and stalking, though it was unclear if he was her sole target.Â
Spielberg, meanwhile is busier than ever with nearly a dozen new projects in the works – mostly serving as a producer or executive producer – but a handful of which he is directing.
Steven’s remake of the classic movie-musical West Side Story has wrapped production and is slated for a December 2021 release.
He’s also producing new installments of some of his more famous flicks like Gremlins 3, Jurassic World: Dominion, Who Framed Roger Rabbit 2 and another Indiana Jones.Â
