Shocked By Suicide Of Aging Tycoon Founder Of "Sweet'N Low" Sweeteners In New York | The State

Donald Tober, a wealthy artificial sweetener mogul who made “Sweet’N Low” a global brand, committed suicide at age 89 by jumping out of his luxury building on Park Avenue, NYC yesterday.

Tober, CEO and co-owner of “Sugar Foods,” a New York-based company that houses 1,400 employees, was killed shortly after 5 a.m. Friday. He was found in the courtyard of the luxurious building 620 Park Avenue near East 65th St.

A graduate of Harvard Law School, he was president of the Culinary Institute of America and founder of City Meals-on-Wheels.
