Ivanka Trump seen in DC as Republicans face Georgia Senate defeat
Ivanka Trump stepped out of her Washington, D.C. home on Wednesday morning as Republicans face an expected defeat in both Georgia Senate runoff elections.
The projected losses are likely a blow to the First Daughter, who visited the Peach State multiple times to stump for Sen. Kelly Loeffler and Sen. David Perdue ahead of the crucial runoffs, which will determine control of the upper chamber of Congress.
Ivanka, 39, was seen heading to work around 9:15 a.m. wearing a navy wool coat by Carolina Herrera and matching heels. The protective mask she had on covered the expression on her face as she walked out of her front gate.

The White House Senior adviser previously donned the designer coat when she returned home to D.C. after enjoying a getaway at her father’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, in March 2019.
This time around, Ivanka threw it on over a navy turtleneck and matching midi skirt. She carried a black tote and looked straight ahead as she walked to the Secret Service vehicle parked outside of her home.
Her long blonde hair was dried straight, and she was sporting smokey eye-makeup, a go-to look for her.
While she likely stayed up late watching the election results come in on Tuesday evening, she appeared to be well-rested as she started her day.
Rev. Raphael Warnock was the first Democratic win of the night after he beat Loeffler, making history as Georgia’s first black senator.

Democrat Jon Ossoff has since declared himself the winner against Perdue, despite the contest not being officially called.
‘It is with humility that I thank the people of Georgia for electing me to serve you in the United States senate. Thank you for the confidence and trust you have placed in me,’ Ossoff said in a video posted to Twitter.
The claim was quickly backed up in statements from Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer and Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
President Donald Trump tweeted bitterly throughout Wednesday night as dawn broke on the likelihood of a split Senate 50-50, with Vice President-elect Kamala Harris holding the tie-breaking vote.
‘Looks like they are setting up a big ‘voter dump’ against the Republican candidates. Waiting to see how many votes they need?’ He tweeted amid a slew of unsubstantiated voter fraud claims.

Georgia has become a political focal point since the November general election as the Republicans sought desperately to retain their crucial Senate majority in a traditionally red state after losing the White House.
But the state has elected its first Democrat senators in 20 years in a stinging rebuke of the GOP.
Ivanka visited Georgia a few days before Christmas to campaign Loeffler and Perdue, urging voters to defend the Republican majority.
She returned to the state with her brother Donald Trump Jr. and his girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle on Monday to join President Trump at a rally in Dalton to endorse the candidates.
Ivanka, who donned a Republican red turtleneck to the event, took to the stage to throw her support behind both her dad and the two Republican Senate candidates.
She was met with cheers and clapping as she called Trump ‘the people’s president’ and vowed he ‘will not stop fighting,’ before calling Loeffler and Perdue ‘two amazing senators.’

All smiles: The First Daughter most recently joined her father, President Donald Trump, at a campaign rally for the Republican candidates in Georgia on Monday
The appearance came after she posted a beaming photo of herself on board Air Force One with Trump in the background, writing: ‘Off to Georgia with Dad! Get out and VOTE Georgia!!!’
But social media users were quick to spot that Ivanka had bizarrely tagged the singer Meat Loaf in the post. Ivanka also tagged Loeffler, Perdue, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino, and the GOP.
Surprisingly, Ivanka did not tag Trump causing several Twitter users to mock her and question if she had somehow muddled up the singer, whose real name Michael Lee Aday, with her father.
‘Wait do you think your dad is Meat Loaf?’ asked one bemused social media user.
Another person wrote: ‘I would just like to point out that she didn’t tag her dad in this picture. However, she did tag Meat Loaf. I feel like there is some symbolism in that.’
‘Meat Loaf is Ivanka’s name for daddy,’ mocked another.
The Democrats’ projected wins come as Congress prepares to convene for a constitutionally-mandated Joint Session to certify the electoral college results in the presidential race.
Say cheese! While en route to Monday’s rally, Ivanka tweeted a beaming photo of herself aboard Air Force One with Trump in the background as she urged people to ‘get out and vote’

President-elect Joe Biden’s victory is all but certain even as President Trump launched a last-minute attempt to pressure Vice President Mike Pence to overturn the election results, asking him for ‘extreme courage’ in the day ahead.
Pence will preside over what is expected to be a long day as Trump allies on Capitol Hill prepare to object to the results. But their efforts are expected to be for naught. A majority of Republican senators vowed to support Biden’s win, leaving the president with few options.
Trump kept the pressure on, however.
‘States want to correct their votes, which they now know were based on irregularities and fraud, plus corrupt process never received legislative approval. All Mike Pence has to do is send them back to the States, AND WE WIN. Do it Mike, this is a time for extreme courage!,’ he tweeted Wednesday morning.
Pence does not have the power to overturn the election. His role in the day’s proceedings is largely ceremonial.
President Trump also is scheduled to address his supporters outside the White House on Wednesday morning — shortly before the joint session convenes — in a day that expected to feature protests throughout the city and fears of violence.

Victory: Rev. Raphael Warnock victory was first win of the night in Georgia’s two special Senate contests after he defeated Loeffler and made history as the state’s first black senator
Not giving up: Loeffler spoke to supporters in Atlanta and refused to concede. She attacked Warnock for ‘moving the country toward socialism’
The National Guard has been called in to help patrol the streets and Washington D.C. police announced they will arrest anyone who brings in a firearm, as some Trump supporters have threatened to do.
It’s unclear what Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner will do or where they will go after their time in the White House. While they have a home in New York City, signs point to them ending up in Florida.
A source told the New York Post that Ivanka has been ‘keeping extensive notes’ on the past four years she’s spent in President Trump’s White House, acting as her father’s adviser.
These West Wing notes, the source told the newspaper, could be the basis of a third book, which she has apparently been approached about writing.
Ivanka has already written two books: The Trump Card in 2009 and Women Who Work in 2017.
The source suggested that Ivanka’s potential interest in writing a third book would be because ‘she wants to set the record straight on a long list of issues, including confronting her critics head-on.’

Speculation has been swirling that Ivanka will run for the U.S. Senate in Florida in 2022 after it was revealed that she and her husband Jared reportedly purchased a $31 million plot of land on Miami’s ‘Billionaire Bunker.’
She may also be writing a book about her time as First Daughter, according to a new report.
Among the topics this book could address would be the notions that she was ‘out of her depth as the president’s adviser,’ as well as rumors that President Trump was sidelining her and the alleged tension between herself and Melania, the source said.
Ivanka would also potentially write about ‘the very important things she got done with women’s issues, family leave, and more.’
The source also noted that if Ivanka were to write a third book, she would ‘address what she says is the targeting of her life and business by the liberal media, [Democratic] politicians and the New York attorney general.’
Two New York State fraud investigations have been launched into President Trump and the Trump Organization concerning tax write-offs on millions of dollars in consulting fees following a New York Times report in November.
Some of those alleged fees were said to have been given to Ivanka.
Ivanka tweeted the fraud investigations were ‘harassment pure and simple’ and that ‘This “inquiry” by NYC democrats is 100% motivated by politics, publicity and rage.’
She also wrote: ‘This fishing expedition is very clearly part of a continued political vendetta.’
