Alec Baldwin posted a gushing birthday tribute to his wife Hilaria Baldwin amid reports he had been attempting to lift her spirits following her Spanish heritage controversy.
Baldwin, 62, posted a gushing tribute to his Boston born wife, who has been shrouded in controversy amid accusations she had been faking her background.
The actor had high words for the ‘love of my life’ as he posted a photo of himself with Hilaria and their five children, daughter Carmen, seven, and sons Rafael, five, Romeo, two, and Eduardo, four months.
‘Happy birthday to the love of my life. To the only person in the world who brings me joy and peace every day. The person who is my home. My everything,’ Alec captioned the photo, posted Wednesday.

Alec has been doing his best to be there for his wife throughout the controversy.
‘They celebrated New Year’s in the Hamptons. While Hilaria has seemed a bit upset, Alec has been around to comfort her,’ a source told People.
‘He has been supportive and has tried to cheer her up.’
Since Hilaria’s Spanish heritage came under scrutiny last month, the couple have been ‘very upset’ over the backlash.

The Boston-born yoga teacher, who had long played up her purported links to Spain, has been ‘deeply affected’ that heritage is now ‘being questioned,’ a source told Entertainment Tonight.
However her Saturday Night Live star husband ‘unconditionally supports and loves Hilaria in whatever she does,’ the source claimed.

Hilaria has since clarified she was born and raised in Boston’s posh Beacon Hill district to parents (who moved to Spain in 2011) with deep roots in the United States.
Baldwin even went as far as to blame her agency CAA and ¡Hola! magazine for mistakenly referring to her as Spanish in an interview with the New York Times last Wednesday.
‘Home is where my parents are going to be,’ the Mom Brain podcaster bizarrely explained. ‘If my parents move to China, I am going to go to China and say, “I’m going home.”‘

But as far back as 2011, Hillary perpetuated her fictional heritage by tweeting that she was a ‘Spanish yoga teacher.’
As recent as two months ago, Baldwin’s husband Alec told Aaron and Rohit’s Hopeless Show ‘my wife is from Spain’ and he said the same on Late Show with David Letterman in 2013.
