Paralympian star Ade Adepitan welcomes first son with wife Linda Harrison
Paralympian star Ade Adepitan has welcomed his first ever son with wife Linda Harrison.
The 47-year-old former wheelchair basketball player shared the exciting news on Twitter earlier this week.
Thrilled with the incredible arrival, he wrote on Monday: “I’m still buzzing!! Because at 6:36 am this morning I became a father for the first time.
“So much respect for my wife @elleexxe she absolutely smashed it, and now we have a beautiful baby boy! #newborn.”
The news came suddenly as around two weeks ago Linda, who goes by the stage name Elle Exxe, shared a snap of her growing bump and told fans her due date was January 12.
She posted online: “In non-Christmas and Covid or music news… my bump keeps bumping into things.
“Just 3 weeks to go til baby Adepitam! The due date is a palindrome 12.1.21 but I heard on average first babies are 10 days late. Place your bets. Exxe x.”
And their little bundle of joy arrived before his due date, which surprised the couple’s excited followers.
One fan penned underneath his tweet: “Congratulations to you and your wife. I hope your son inherits a better planet than we are giving him atm. Stay safe to you and yours.”
Another shared: “That’s fabulous news. Many congratulations to you and Linda. A warm welcome to the world to your baby boy. Xx”
“That’s absolutely wonderful news! Welcome to the world baby Adepitan! Most certainly made better today by your arrival,” a third echoed.
And a fourth commented: “Hey Ade a huge congratulations, can’t believe it you’re a dad! That is so incredible, what a special special day for you both! You’ve just brought someone into this world! How exciting! Wish you all really really well.”
The sportsman earned an MBE in 2005 for services to disability sport.
He later married Linda, 30, in the quire of St Paul’s Cathedral on August 11, 2018.
He told HELLO! at the time: “Everyone says it’s the best day of your life but it was probably better than that.
“We were ordinary people in an extraordinary place and you could see everyone take a breath as they looked around at the grand surroundings. It was slightly overwhelming.
“She looked so so beautiful. My eyes started watering, and quite a few of my friends turned their faces away as they didn’t want to start crying, too.”
The incredible ceremony was seen by 170 friends and family members and it turned out to be a very special day.
