A Molotov cocktail was thrown at a residence in the Sainte-Dorothée district and three vehicles were set on fire in the Saint-François sector in Laval on Wednesday.
Firefighters were called at around 1:20 a.m. to hear the start of a fire caused by a Molotov cocktail thrown at a residence on Bord-du-Lac road, near Girouard Avenue.
The incendiary object was located on site and the fire was brought under control.
No one was injured, but the fire caused significant damage to the residence, according to the Laval Police Department (SPL), which did not assess the extent of the damage.
A security perimeter was erected by the police to protect the scene.
About 40 minutes later, three vehicles parked in front of a residence on the Haut-Saint-François range, were set on fire.
When the fire department arrived, the vehicles were on fire and there were signs of accelerating in place.
The fire was brought under control by firefighters and no one was injured, it was said.
Investigators are expected to visit the scene later in the day to analyze the two scenes.
