Larry King moved out of ICU after being hospitalised with coronavirus
Larry King has been moved out of ICU.
The 87-year-old talk show host and CNN star was last week taken to a hospital in Los Angeles for medical attention after contracting coronavirus.
He was then receiving oxygen after struggling to breathe on his own.
After a few days under the watchful eye of doctors and nurses, Larry has now been moved out of the intensive care unit.
David Theall, who is a spokesperson for the TV star’s production company Ora Media, has confirmed that Larry has been moved out of the ICU.
What’s more, the TV star – who has been battling the virus for 10 days – is now able to breathe again on his own as he continues to recover from the deadly bug.
He was also able to talk to his three sons Larry Jr, Cannon and Chance via video call after being moved out of the ICU.
The star’s sons and ex-wife Shawn King – whom he filed for divorce from in August 2019 – were unable to pay a visit under the current restrictions.
Despite the pending divorce, Larry is reportedly on good terms with his wife of 22-years.
Larry – whose television career spans decades – is at greater risk from the virus because of his age.
The television personality has also suffered from a host of health issues in the past including lung and prostate cancer, as well as having suffered from a heart attack.
He then also endured another near-fatal stroke in 2019, that had left him in a coma ‘for weeks’.
The award winning television host is known for his work on The Larry King Show, as well as a long list of other television and radio podcasts including several iconic celebrity interviews.
Larry’s reported hospitalisation comes after a difficult year for the television star, having lost two children in 2020.
The talk show star paid tribute to his daughter Chaia King and son Andy King, who both died within three weeks of each other unexpectedly over the summer.
