Bipolar man cut his genitals at home in New York | The State

A 50-year-old man with apparent mental problems cut off his penis and flushed it down a toilet in his Staten Island (NYC) apartment, reported the New York police.

The unidentified man’s roommate called the police around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday to report that he had cut his right arm, at his apartment on Main Street, Tottenville.

Police arrived and found him with a self-inflicted wound. The victim then told EMTs that he had cut off his penis and flushed it down the toilet.

Rescuers confirmed that he had genital injuries and found a large amount of blood in the bathroom.

The victim told police that he was bipolar and schizophrenic, and had been without medication for several months. the sources said to New York Post.
