Stray bullet hits Brooklyn woman in her apartment shortly after New Year's Eve

A Brooklyn woman was injured by a stray bullet within minutes of the turn of the year.

According to the police, an unknown person fired several times near Lincoln Avenue and Sutter Avenue at East New York neighborhood. The event was recorded at 12:07 a.m.

A 33-year-old woman was wounded by one of the bullets, which entered through a window. The victim was in his bed when he was hit in a miss.

The Brooklyn resident she was treated at Brookdale Hospital and is expected to survive. There were no more injuries.

The shooter is wanted by the Police. The shooting was the first of 2021 in the Big Apple.

First homicide

Meanwhile, a man died and two were injured during a shooting at a Queens hotel in what would be the first homicide of the year. The incident occurred on Queens Blvd. and 82nd avenue at 1:10 a.m.

The victim is a man in his 20s. Shootings increased in New York during 2020.
