Some healthcare workers in the United States refuse to get vaccinated against the coronavirus even though they take priority.

An LA Times report revealed that less than half of the 700 workers at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Tehama County, California wanted to apply the COVID-19 vaccine when it was offered to them.

This would not be the only case in California. In Los Angeles County it is estimated that between 20% and 40% of health workers have rejected vaccination, according to information from Health authorities. In Riverside it is believed that 50% chose not to get vaccinated.

Added to the reports in California is information from Ohio, where a 60% of workers in elderly care centers they refuse to get the vaccine.

The numbers are surprising as health workers were expected to accept the vaccine without problems. According to the LA Times and other media, some pregnant women they have preferred not to take the vaccine because they do not know if it is safe in their state.

Other health workers prefer not to be vaccinated since they have been at the forefront of the pandemic for months without contracting the virus, so they think that the information about COVID-19 is exaggerated.

The president ofl National Union of Health Workers he blamed the federal government for the disbelief of some toilets.

“It’s certainly disappointing,” said Sal Rosselli, president of the union. “But it is not surprising, given what the federal administration has done over the last 10 months. … Trust the science. It’s about science, reality and what’s right. “
