Geri Horner is mourning the loss of her beloved pooch who has sadly passed away.
The former Spice Girls star, 48, took to social media to break the sad news that her “special friend”, Daddy, had died ahead of the New Year.
The heartbroken singer told fans she enjoyed 18 wonderful years with the adorable Pomeranian, and explained how he helped her through some of the loneliest periods in her life.
Geri said her beloved pooch has ascended to “doggy heaven” in an emotional post in which she shared a number of gorgeous throwback photos.
The pop star described Daddy as her “little baby” who arrived before she welcomed her first child, Bluebell, in 2006.
The heartfelt post read: “Goodbye to my special little friend, Daddy the dog.
“He kept me company when I was lonely. He was my little baby before I had Bluebell.
“After eighteen years he has gone to doggy heaven. Rest in peace, we love you.”
The first snap saw Geri smiling as she held Pomeranian, who wore a snazzy checked ribbon.
Another image saw the adorable dog relaxing on a sofa while cuddling up to Geri’s husband Christian and he family’s other pooch.
Geri was inundated with supportive messages from her followers.
One commented: “Oh I’m so sorry. They really are part of the family aren’t they.”
“So sorry for your loss!” another sympathised.
Meanwhile, a third penned: “Sending you love Geri and family. Rest in peace little buddy.”
Animal lover Geri lost another dog, Hugo, just four months ago.
