Sheridan Smith will ring in 2021 with a comedy song she penned about her dogs

This New Year’s Eve might have gone to the dogs, but Sheridan Smith and her pooches are going to keep us entertained while we’re stuck indoors, counting down to 2021.

The Cilla star will provide us all with a much-needed laugh to see out an awful year, by singing a comedy song about her six dogs helping her through lockdown as part of BBC 1’s Big New Year’s In.

The besotted dog mum to two great Danes, Trevor and Dave, two Boston terriers, Ronnie and Reggie, and two chihuahuas, Bernard and Dumbo, will also sing jokey lines about all the different trends that have emerged this year as part of a quiz round in the show, hosted by Top Gear’s Paddy McGuinness and presenter Maya Jama.

Sheridan will be providing light relief to round off 2020

She’ll be showing off her musical talents

Strictly judge Shirley Ballas and footballer turned crooner Chris Kamara will answer a question about Sheridan’s ditty as part of a quiz.

Get ready to say goodbye to 2020 with a smile on your face at 9pm with Paddy for the Big New Year’s In – and hopefully, kick off the New Year not feeling dog ruff for a change.
