Elijah David Bertrand, a 19-year-old United Parcel Service (UPS) worker, was arrested in Connecticut as a suspect in the deadly assault on a co-worker.
Authorities have been searching for Bertrand since driver Nathan Burk (28) was found seriously stabbed in his UPS truck in Watertown around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday 23.
Connecticut State Police responded to what they thought was a road accident on Route 8 North, but found Burk attacked with multiple stab wounds. He later died at a nearby hospital.
The charges against Bertrand were not immediately announced. The motive for the alleged attack is unknown. The deceased’s girlfriend said Burk and Bertrand they had dinner with her at her house Tuesday before heading to the UPS facility to return the truck, he reported NBC News.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague and cooperating with the investigation,” said UPS spokesman Matthew O’Connor.
