Arriving from the UK to Russia must self-isolate for two weeks

The decree entered into force on December 26

Russia has introduced a two-week quarantine for arrivals from the United Kingdom, RBC reports. The corresponding decree of the chief sanitary doctor of Russia Anna Popova was published on the portal of legal information.

“Persons arriving from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the territory of the Russian Federation (with the exception of crew members of an aircraft carrying out air transportation) must comply with the isolation regime at the place of residence (stay) within fourteen calendar days from the date of arrival,” the resolution says …

The requirement came into effect on December 26.

Last week, the UK government announced the detection of a new strain of coronavirus in the country. According to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, it can spread 70% faster. After this statement, more than 30 countries have restricted air traffic with the UK. Russia has suspended flights for a week since December 22.
