Gemma Collins ‘petrified’ as coronavirus leaves parents ‘extremely unwell’

Gemma Collins shared her heartbreak with fans after both of her parents became ‘extremely unwell’ with coronavirus.

The former TOWIE star, 39, pleaded with her followers to stick to government guidelines as she revealed worrying details of her dad’s Covid battle.

In an honest Instagram post, The GC stripped off her funny persona in a bid to explain the harsh reality of the deadly bug, before begging fans to stay home.

Sharing two snaps of her mum and dad, Gem penned: “Please please please take notice of the guidelines ! Both my parents are extremely unwell with Covid 19!”

Gemma admitted that a tough aspect of her parents being struck down with the virus has been seeing her dad at his lowest point.

“Seeing my dad cry which he never does was a shock and say he would rather be dead then experience everything he is going through right now,” she wrote. “This has totally wiped him out and it’s heartbreaking.”

And she continued: “My mum also is extremely extremely unwell with Covid also, this is real! And please please take notice and keep your loved ones SAFE.”

“It really is petrifying, what a difference a year makes…” Gem added.

Naturally, concerned fans flocked to the comments section to send Gem their well wishes.

“Wishing them both a speedy recovery Gem,” wrote another.

A third added: “Sending all the love Gemma. Hoping for the best,” while a fourth agreed, writing: “Sending positive thoughts to you and your parents. Thoughts are with you.”

Gem recently admitted she’s been lonely in lockdown and confessed the pandemic has “not been good for my love life”.

The reality TV star is currently single after splitting from her longtime boyfriend James Argent earlier this year.

Gemma has now opened up about single life during the coronavirus pandemic and admitted she’s found it tough to be alone.

She told The Sun : “I’ve found the evenings a bit lonely. I am a very sociable person and I like to go out and about so for me the evenings are tough.

“It is hard, lockdown has not been good for my love life… I think intuitively the universe gives you the right person at the right time so it’s all going to fall into place.”
