Ronaldo, Ozil and Pogba and the top 10 highest earning footballers in the world

Mesut Ozil and Paul Pogba still have their places in the list of highest-paid footballers in the world.

Ozil, who has been frozen out by Mikel Arteta this season and seems unlikely to play again before leaving on a free next summer.

Regardless, he is still eligible to collect his £350,000-per-week salary, which makes him the seventh highest-paid player in the world.

He is believed to be eager to sign for a top-tier team next summer when his contract expires, and is unwilling to drop down a level.

His start to the season has been in stark contrast to Pogba, who has been involved but criticised for his performances.

Paul Pogba is on a reported £290,000 per-week

The French midfielder has found himself used as a substitute more often than not in recent weeks, having fallen behind Bruno Fernandes in the pecking order – before an outstanding display in the win at Sheffield United on Thursday night.

He still has 18 months to run on his £290,000-per-week contract, pocketing him wages of £22.8million per year.

Both are still some way behind the top earners, with Cristiano Ronaldo pipping Lionel Messi thanks to his incredible Juventus contract.

Mesut Ozil is about to enter the final six months of his contract

His wages, combined with his various endorsement contracts with numerous high-profile brands including Nike and his own perfume brand, raked in £85.8m this year.

Messi isn’t too far behind, bringing home £83.4m through his Barcelona contract and multiple endorsements.

Next on the list is his former and potentially future team-mate Neymar, who could potentially leap above Messi when the next list is published by Forbes.

Cristiano Ronaldo pips Lionel Messi in the highest earners list

The Brazilian recently inked a new £27m-per-year endorsement deal to become the new face of PUMA, leaving his Nike deal behind.

Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah is next on the list, earning £28.2m per year.

Behind him is Kylian Mbappe, who could also take a leap in the list next year when he has been tipped to leave Paris Saint-Germain and sign a mega new contract elsewhere.

PSG stars Kylian Mbappe and Neymar are both on high wages

Rounding out the list are Andres Iniesta, Ozil, Pogba, Oscar and Antoine Griezmann.

Barcelona icon Iniesta, now at Vissel Kobe, is still raking in the money despite now being on the verge of retirement.

Oscar has been on a hefty wage ever since leaving Chelsea for Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG in 2017, and earns a reported £21m-per-year as well as endorsements.
