After McConnell’s position, defenders of President Trump began to publish messages against him, calling him a “traitor”, since the president continues with his accusations of “electoral fraud”, despite the fact that he has lost the battles in court for lack evidence, in addition to the fact that the Supreme Court refused to address their claims.

The Electoral College confirmed the 302 votes in favor of Democrat Biden and 232 for President Trump.
Now, Congress will have to certify the election on January 6, where some Republicans in the House are expected to criticize the process, but it will be difficult to stop the last step before the inauguration of the new government on January 20.
