Matt James, who is the show’s first-ever Black Bachelor, will be searching for his soulmate at the palatial Nemacolin, a luxurious retreat located in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania.
The breathtaking, family-owned resort boasts a spa, a Forbes five-star restaurant, an art collection, and an array of lodging options designed for an upscale vacation experience.

Nemacolin guests can enjoy a round of golf on one of the two Pete Dye designed courses, clay shooting, fly-fishing, off-road driving, and even zip lining.

Filmed in the midst of a pandemic, the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort is a departure from where the show is usually filmed, at the world-famous Bachelor Mansion in Los Angeles.
Teasers from the upcoming season show Matt meeting his suitors at the foot of the lavish resort.
This season is also breaking barriers, with Matt becoming the first Black lead in the show’s 18-year history.
Matt was initially cast as a contestant for Clare Crawley’s season of The Bachelorette, but was elevated to leading man status before her season began filming in the midst of the Black Lives Matter movement.

An associate at CBRE who played football at Wakefield University, Matt also gives back to his community as the founder of ABC Food Tours, a non-profit which teaches underprivileged youth about healthy lifestyles and new restaurants in their area.
The Bachelor will premiere on ABC 8pm on January 4, 2021.
