David Walliams admitted that he hasn’t heard from Simon Cowell since the music mogul broke his back in a horror electric bike accident.
The 49-year-old comedian, who usually stars on Britain’s Got Talent alongside Simon, explained that he hadn’t even received a Christmas card from his co-star.
David’s remarks came months after Simon was forced to pull out of the Britain’s Got Talent finals after he broke his back having fallen from his electric bike over the summer.
Speaking to Heat magazine, David revealed that Simon had actually jetted out to Barbados where he is enjoying the sunny weather alongside his family.
“I haven’t really heard from him. He’s currently convalescing in Barbados. It’s amazing, isn’t it? If only everyone could convalesce in Barbados,” David told the publication.
When David was asked whether he had received any Christmas gift from the X Factor star, David replied: “Not even a card.”
He continued: “I’ll even say ”Simon did you get the book I sent to Eric?” And he’ll say ”well I don’t know,” as if it was an imposition.
“And you”l hear him asking an assistant ”Did a book arrive?” I don’t know why I bother.”
David is set to appear in ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent Christmas special on Christmas Day this year.
The star will be joined by fellow judges Amanda Holden, Ashley Banjo and Alesha Dixon as well as a host of recognisable acts.
Although Simon is not expected to make an appearance in the Britain’s Got Talent Christmas special, just yesterday Amanda confirmed that Simon would be returning to the show next year.
Speaking on Loose Women, Amanda gave an update about Simon’s recovery and confirmed he would be returning for the next season.
She said: “I spoke to him on the phone a few weeks ago and he feels on top of the world and apparently he looks fantastic as well.”
Amanda added that Simon will be back for the start of filming in January.
