The love story between Carolina and Edgardo began by covering a journalistic event. They were both reporting from court and Cupid shot them right away. Del Villar, who was still married to the mother of his only daughter, Dana, divorced.
It didn’t take long for him to ask her to marry him and they got a civil bond. From Miami they moved to New York, where Novoa had to resign from her job at Telemundo, to accompany her husband in the new work adventure of being in front of the Telemundo 47 Newscast.
From the same day that the Mexican journalist began his fight against cancer until his death this Sunday, Carolina did not leave her husband’s side for a second. Not only did she take care of him, but she encouraged him and promised that they would be together until the end, and she delivered.

Edgardo del Villar died this Sunday morning in a hospital in New York, where he was hospitalized in serious condition.
The 51-year-old journalist had been battling for more than a year and a half an aggressive cancer that had lodged in his brain. Although all three tumors were successfully removed and the treatment had been successful in the first phase, sadly the disease returned.
