Ex-Arsenal star Frimpong’s brutal assessment of club after Burnley defeat

Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong gave his brutal assessment of the club during the 1-0 defeat to Burnley.

The Gunners have made their worst start to a top-flight season since 1974-75, and sit down in 15th place in the Premier League after 11 matches.

Their miseries were compounded on Sunday night as they suffered a fourth consecutive home loss at the hands of relegation battlers Burnley.

Their plight was made more difficult by the sending off of Granit Xhaka after grabbing Ashley Westwood by the throat.

And this led controversial former Gunner Frimpong to tweet a series of entertaining yet honest messages about the club.

Emmanuel Frimpong played for Arsenal from 2011–2014 after coming through their academy

He started off by sharing with his 625k followers: “Sell Xhaka and get me on a free.”

He then followed that up with a savage message, writing: “Lets dissolve Arsenal with immediate effect.”

“Fans deserve way better than this c***,” he finally put.

Mikel Arteta admitted that Xhaka had cost Arsenal the game by getting sent off when he did.

“Same words,” said the Spaniard when asked if it was worse than Nicolas Pepe’s red card against Leeds earlier this month.

“In these conditions even worse. The conditions we are in, without winning football matches, you cannot do that.

“I think it is related into how much will and energy they want to put in the games that they overstep the line.

“It is not an excuse because I want to be brave and be there to do what we have done today again – because you just give the game to the opponent.”
