The jewels of a mysterious treasure appear on the sand of a beach in Venezuela

The villagers have recovered gold rings from the Venezuelan beach.

For several months gold and silver jewelry have appeared on the shore of the beach of a small Venezuelan fishing village that has been devastated by the country’s economic crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic.

In September, Yolman Lares was the first to find pieces of treasure on Guaca beach when he located a gold medallion with the image of the Virgin mary.

“I started to shake, I cried with joy,” Lares, 25, told The New York Times. “It was the first time something special happened to me.”

Since then, dozens of residents have recovered items on the beach, mostly rings of gold.

Some of the “treasure” objects have managed to be sold up to $ 1,500 dollars per piece. For the residents, the find is considered a “blessing for the people”.

It is not known where the treasureBut the newspaper notes that the mystery has grown as a combination of folklore, legends of treasures left by the sunken ships of Caribbean pirates, and Christmas traditions.
