Several shots fired in the Saint-Michel district

Several shots were fired Friday evening around 11:25 p.m. on 42nd Street in the Saint-Michel district of Montreal.

A projectile impact on a residence on 42nd Street and several cartridge cases were located when the police arrived on site, not far from rue Paul-Corbeil, said Jean-Pierre Brabant, spokesperson for the Police Department of the City of Montreal (SPVM).

No injuries have been reported and the SPVM has yet “no information on the suspect (s),” the spokesperson said.

The security perimeter has been lifted as SPVM investigators and forensic identification technicians continue their examination in order to understand the circumstances of the event.
