Man Utd, Arsenal and Tottenham discover potential Europa League opponents

The Europa League is heading into the knockout stages – and there is plenty of Premier League interest.

Manchester United’s Champions League elimination sees them drop into the competition to join Arsenal, Tottenham and Leicester City ahead of the round of 32.

All four Premier League teams will avoid each other at this stage having finished top of their groups.

They are amongst the 16 seeded teams, along with Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, who secured their spot at the top of Group D with victory over Lech Poznan.

That means they will not be able to face any of the other group winners – including Napoli, AC Milan and Roma – or Ajax, who were eliminated from the Champions League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Mikel Arteta will both be eyeing Europa League success

Some of the unseeded teams they will hope to avoid include Benfica, Olympiacos, Lille and Red Bull Salzburg.

More favourable ties include Molde, Antwerp and Wolfsberger AC.

Unseeded teams will be at home first with clubs from the same country or same group unable to face each other.

The full list of sides each British club could face when the draw is made on Monday, December 14.
