Emma Bunton has made a shock confession about the Spice Girls.
The singer, 44, revealed how the former girlband were “probably drunk” when they recorded their first ever album, Spice, back in September 1996.
She shared the information for the first time during an appearance on Shopping With Keith Lemon.
The star admitted the girls were sipping on “the cheapest sparkling wine” to get through the stressful writing and recording process.
“We were writing the album. We used to drink Asti in the studio. It is the cheapest sparkling wine,” Emma, known as Baby Spice, told him.
Keith was surprised, asking: “So are you drunk on some of the tracks?”
Emma laughed: “Probably!”
The girls once all lived together in Maidenhead back in the 1990s before they shot to fame.
Emma told Keith that she had shared a room with Victoria Beckham, also known as Posh Spice, when the five pals – Emma, Victoria, Mel B, Mel C and Geri Halliwell – lived together.
Intrigued by this, he asked: “Was she posh back then?”
Emma told him: “She had posh clothes, well, back then we thought they were posh!”
It comes after Geri revealed she was told a nail bomber was planning to target her during her first solo performance at the Brit Awards in 2000.
Ahead of taking the stage, Geri was warned by police not to continue with the show but she refused to pull-out.
David Copeland, who was jailed for life in 2000, planned to assassinate the pop sensation on stage because of her friendship with music legend George Michael, Geri has claimed.
The singer says she fearlessly ignored evil Copeland’s threat and said she would not be bullied into cancelling her performance.
The former pop group, who split in 2000, want to reunite for their 25th anniversary next year to play Stateside – and desperately want Victoria to make an appearance.
Sporty Spice Mel C told The Mirror : “We love being in the USA and have had so many great times there doing TV shows and promotional stuff. And we so want to get back there.”
Fans will be rooting for the girls to all reunite after Victoria has previously snubbed joining them on tour to celebrate their 25 years.
A source told Daily Star in July: “Victoria will always be a Spice Girl and loves the girls very much but due to other commitments would not be able to go on tour with them.”
However it seems the plan could change, as when Mel C was asked if Victoria is “persuadable”, she laughed: “We are working on it.”
