In a press release, the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) warns the population about the sale of counterfeit hockey cards from the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament of player Alexis Lafrenière.

The problem is that no Alexis Lafrenière hockey card was produced in this edition. “These are counterfeits, so these cards do not have the value that fraudsters might claim,” warns Sergeant Étienne Doyon of the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ).

“The cards were listed on eBay, but they could end up on different platforms,” says Doyon.

The SPVQ’s fraud unit has opened an investigation. The police force invites anyone who has information regarding this matter to call 418 641-AGIR (2447), 1 888 641-AGIR, or 9-1-1 for immediate intervention.

The SPVQ file number is QUE201208-087.
